Trey Mills scores Top-10 finish on Hell Tour at Tri-City Speedway

Continuing his road trip out to the Midwest, Trey Mills joined the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Wednesday afternoon at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway for the opening event of the Hell Tour.

With a strong 32-car field on hand, Trey picked up the final transfer A-Main transfer spot in his heat and recorded a 14th-place finish in the $5,000-to-win main event.

Thursday's $5,000-to-win show at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway was cancelled due to severe weather in the area.

Headed to the St. Louis area on Friday, Trey Mills followed the tour to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the first $10,000-to-win event of the week. Laying down the quickest lap in his qualifying group, Mills finished runner-up in his heat which earned him a starting spot on the third-row. Fading back a few positions, Trey was able to hang on for a Top-10 finish in ninth.

With a week-high 49 Late Models on hand for Saturday's show at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway, Mills finished fifth in his heat race and finished one spot short in his last chance showdown but was able to receive a provisional for the $10,000-to-win feature. Going forward 10 spots in 50 laps, Trey recorded a 16th-place finish.

Sunday's final event at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.) was also rained out after a late shower washed out the racetrack.
