Top-10 finish for Trey in Illini opener with World of Outlaws; 11th-place finish in $25,000 finale
Following the national tour to the Midwest for a doubleheader, Trey Mills was one of 40 Super Late Model entries at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway for the 19th-running of the Illini 100 with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
Trey kicked off the weekend by placing second in his heat race and finishing ninth in the $12,000-to-win opener after starting eighth. Mills then set the bar in his qualifying group on Saturday and won a heat race over Shannon Babb. Starting on the second-row, Trey battled inside the Top-10 for most of the 60-lapper before he slipped to 11th when the checkered flag dropped.
Mills is now 11th in the current series point standings.
